Motor Mount Replacement Cost & Pricing

Replace worn or broken engine mounts that secure the engine to the vehicle frame and absorb vibration. Failed mounts cause excessive engine vibration felt in the cabin, clunking on acceleration or deceleration, and in severe cases, transmission or exhaust contact with the body.

Typical Motor Mount Replacement cost

$220โ€“$950, with an average estimate of $480 before vehicle-specific adjustments.

What to expect

Difficulty: moderate. Typical labor time: 1โ€“4 hours.

Mechanic's tip

A quick way to check motor mounts: with the engine running, put the car in Drive and hold the brakes firmly โ€” a bad mount will allow the engine to visibly lurch forward. Replace all mounts at once if more than one is deteriorated; partially collapsed mounts put extra stress on the good ones and fail soon after. Hydraulic mounts (fluid-filled) are common on newer vehicles and cost more than solid rubber mounts.
