Fuel Injector Replacement Cost & Pricing
Replace clogged or leaking fuel injectors that deliver precise amounts of fuel into each cylinder. Bad injectors cause misfires, rough idle, poor fuel economy, hesitation, and raw fuel smell.
Typical Fuel Injector Replacement cost
$160–$850, with an average estimate of $380 before vehicle-specific adjustments.
What to expect
Difficulty: moderate. Typical labor time: 1–4 hours.
Mechanic's tip
Before replacing injectors, try a professional ultrasonic cleaning service ($15–25 per injector) which restores flow to spec in many cases. Have injectors flow-tested off the vehicle before condemning them. If one injector fails on a high-mileage engine, replacing the full set is often more cost-effective since they're all the same age. Direct-injection (GDI) engines accumulate carbon on intake valves — ask about an intake valve cleaning at the same time.
